Nevada Electricity Deregulation Guide
Nevada allows eligible commercial customers to shop for electricity from a licensed competitive supplier. Delivery stays with the regulated utility, including NV Energy; the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) oversees supplier licensing and market rules. Under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 704B, only qualifying large commercial and industrial customers may apply to the PUCN for permission to leave NV Energy bundled service, typically subject to an impact fee. This option is not available to typical small or mid-size businesses.
